What is so interesting to me about fluoridated toothpaste is that to help stop a heart attack we put nitroglycerin tablets or spray in our mouth--and it stops the chest pain. We absorb so much through the lining of the mouth. Pretty scary!!! I looked at six different brands of tooth paste and they ALL had warnings on the label! Thank goodness Nature's Sunshine has provided us with a healthy alternative! |

What essential oils are good for dental problems? Clove works well to numb the gums. Frankincense massaged into the jaw outside the affected tooth helps with infection. |
|
I have heard that having dental work is dangerous for people with heart problems. Are there herbs to prevent problems? My husband has mitro-valve prolapse. I recommend two weeks on large amounts of Enviro-Detox prior to dental work and two weeks after. (I think this is a good precautionary herb for anyone having dental work done.) Colloidal Silver and Olive Leaf Extract are good options, for those with mito-valve prolapse. |

Now the question is what to do with all the fluoride toothpaste that we have at home? Here are some uses for it. 1) Polish silverware, silver, or gold. 2) Remove ink spots from cloth. 3) Remove crayon from walls. Brush the marks with toothpaste and an old toothbrush. 4) Rub all over the outside of glassware to remove scratches and polish to a gleaming shine 5) Removes scuff marks on your shoes, linoleum, appliances or counters. 6) Scrub enamel or metal sinks with toothpaste for a bright shine. 7) Remove burnt food from the stovetop. Let sit for a few minutes before scrubbing away the mess with a rag or sponge. 8) Will take tar off of skin. 9) One inmate in Washington State used toothpaste and dental floss to weaken wire mesh in his cell. He weakened the mesh enough to pry it apart and attempt to escape. |

Dental Nutrition |

Nutrition and dental health go hand in hand. You may have thought that just brushing and flossing was all it took for healthy gums and teeth. Even though poor hygiene plays a major role in the development of gum disease and tooth decay, an extremely important secondary factor is diet and nutrition. In the 1930s, a dentist named Weston Price studied the relationship between deteriorating dental and general health. He noticed that each new generation seemed to have more cavities and more dental problems as well as an increase in other health problems. Price suspected processed foods as the culprit. He traveled to and studied cultures still eating traditional diets, devoid of modern processed foods to. He studied fourteen different cultures and found that there was nearly a complete absence of dental problems. However, within one generation of the introduction of modern foods, usually white flour, sugar, jam, canned foods and the like, these people began to suffer from the same health problems that plagued modern civilization. For more information on Dr. Price’s studies: Weston A Price, DDS. Nutrition and Physical Degeneration, 1945, PricePottenger Nutrition Foundation, San Diego, CA. Most of our communities today have an overabundance of restaurants which serve processed foods. Many of our supermarkets have their shelves filled to capacity with processed foods. These foods are made with synthetic chemicals for the purpose of improving either taste, appearance, or shelf life. The sacrifice for those so called improvements is the lack of vital nutrients. |
